Abreast, Messengers of Hope" |
The right hat complements your facial features and provides symmetry and balance. When this occurs, the features of the face become harmonized in relation to one another. The eyes appear lifted, the complexion brighter and healthier. When people compliment you on the hat you’re wearing, they aren’t just noticing the hat, what they are really saying is how great you look wearing it!
In this issue we cover these face shapes:
Square, Heart, Pear, Triangle, and Diamond. Click
here for full story.
As we move into Fall 2005, the crisp weather prompts us to bundle up, and we look for cozy fabrics in rich exciting colours. This season, hat shapes are evolving, having taller crowns with more peak, and flexible brims that can be manipulated and hold shape, for a sassy look, or a soft dramatic fluid sweep. The hottest styles are the fedora and the military cap; you might try them in a thick tweed or a velvet trimmed wool felt. Sparkle and rhinestone trims are still strong and bring light to the face.
In choosing a hat, you can be intuitive or analytical, whichever
works for you. If you are just developing hat awareness, observe the change
in your skin tone, and what feature is most prominent with and without the hat.
This will help you to understand the elements you are playing with in wearing
a hat and, as you gain confidence, you may feel the urge to branch out. A hat
is the most sculptural item you will wear, and your whole head is the masterpiece.
I urge you to experiment, and experience the fun and freeing side of the world
of hats.

We invite you to visit if you are in the area, and if you need any encouragement to visit Nelson, click here.
"Embraced by a landscape that is postcard-perfect, Nelson, shines as a rare jewel in the back drawer of BC’s hinterland. Named “the best little art town in Canada” and chosen as the best place to live in BC outside of Vancouver and Victoria in 2004, Nelson gives new meaning to the concepts of “hard to get to” and “worth the trip.” Considering it is four hours drive from anywhere and the airport is only operational on clear days, you have to really want to go to Nelson – and you should. If not just for the crystal clear waters that run from on high, or the comfy-couch familiarity of the coffee shops and bistros that beckon travelers to linger in this culturally rich and architecturally stunning anomaly. Nelson is all that and so much more. It’s city swish in heritage pajamas. Small town friendliness with all the mod cons. From the artistic hue of the shops (big box stores and national chains are rare here) to the multitude of mountain sports – this is the very heart of freeride mountain biking in Canada, Nelson embraces life in all its diversity and welcomes visitors with the open arms of an old friend with a great story to tell."
